Recently we visited Stanley Mills to learn all about Victorian life.  We had a great trip and found out that the mill was built beside the River Tay so that the mill could be powered by water.  Back in school we wrote thank you letters..
We thought you might like to read our letters so we have added a sample below.

Dear Fiona,

Thank you for organizing the school trip. It was great I would like to say thank you to Janet as well. She is a really good actress!
My favourite thing about the trip would have to be the dressing up part! it was really good to dress up in what they would wear but I have to say the clothes were not that comfortable,

Yours sincerely,
Chloe

Dear Fiona,

Thank you so much for letting us come to Stanley Mills. I liked it when Janet made us wear Victorian clothes. How many people work there? If I had to live there I would try not to get the BELT.
What year did children under 13 stop working at Stanley Mills. Thank you very much,

Yours Sincerely,
Peter Sayers

  Dear Fiona,

I am writing to say thanks for organizing the workshop. I really liked it; my favourite part was when we had to act out the machines please say thank you to Janet for being the actress, she was a really good one,

Yours Sincerely,
Robert Whitehead

Primary 7 recently visited the high school and we asked them for some comments about their experience.

Before I went on my induction days I was scared and nervous and thought I would get lost.  I also thought that I would be in a separate class from my friends, but now I have had my induction days I am not worried.

Eilidh Wood

It wasn't that bad the second day.  The first day I was a bit scared but it got better as it went along.

I was really nervous about going to a new school 10 times bigger than the small primary we are at just now!  When I went on the bus I was scared but my sister and her friends got me a seat so it was no too scary.  Our three induction days were great, I met lots of new people and our buddies were really nice.  I loved the dinners and teachers and going to different classes so now I am not scared at all.

Chloe

I was scared in case I got lost.  When the bell went and everybody was walking outside there were loads of people.  When I got on the bus the next day I was okay, I wasn't scared and I played with my friends.  I'll give you a bit of advice if your scared about going to high school, don't be and you'll be okay.

I was a bit scared about going to high school but now, since I have been it is not so bad.  I have liked dinners at high school but it could not beat our dinners at Auchterhouse!

The first day I went I was scared in case I got lost but on the second day I was fine.
