A group of children meet
regularly with Mrs Stott to discuss how to make our school more eco
friendly.
|
| Last year the committee
carried
out the difficult task of a formal review using the Eco Schools
Scotland questionnaire to see how well we were doing as a school
with eco issues and practice. We asked questions about litter, food,
water, energy reducing waste, transport, health and well-being, and
the school grounds. A copy of the review and the results are
on the bottom of our eco board if you would like to see it.
This is something we can now use to show where we started from and
check to see if we have improved. |
This year's eco council have
now had the task of deciding
what our action plan should be to start improving our practice as an
eco school. Our Action Plans are also available for you to read on
our Eco Board. We decided to focus on the following things
|
Composting all
that we can from our play pieces and dinners each day.
 |

Switching off lights and other electrical items when not in use
|

Photocopying on both sides of paper whenever possible. |
Closing blinds at the end of the day to save energy, especially in
the winter months.
 |
| |
|
|
|
|

We have bird feeders which
we top up with peanuts and mixed seeds. |

This is our compost heap
which we use regularly. |
